OH! MY MOTHER

Good Evening, This is Shaili Chopra starting the program “NDTV Animals Interview”. Today, we have in our studio, the famous cuckoo “Mallika”.

Shaili: - Mallika, you became famous, due to your courageous decision to stay with the Mother Crow “Rekha”. So, how do you feel?

Mallika: - There is nothing special to feel. I have just done my duty.

Shaili: - Who is your real mother ?

Mallika: - My mother is a cuckoo, whose name is “Aishwariya”.

Shaili: - So, what actually went wrong with you and your mother.

Mallika: - Aishwariya had an affair with a cuckoo “Salman”. Salman belonged to the other group of “Cuckoo” community. So, no one accepted their relationship. One fine morning, as usual “Rekha” was taking care of her eggs. For 5 minutes, she went in search for foods, and her hubby crow “Amit” was busy gossiping with friend crow “Veeru”. At that juncture, Aishwariya laid her egg there.

Shaili: - But, how can Rekha was unable to understand that egg?

Mallika: - Both the eggs of crow and cuckoo look identical, and somehow Rekha was unable to notice it. When I came out of that egg, Rekha wanted to throw me out, but Amit objected it. Soon, after few days, Aishwariya came, to take me home. Amit blasted at him, and told him to go away.

Shaili: - Then, what happened?

Mallika: - Then Aishwariya requested the Head of the ‘Birds Association’, who is an Eagle, known by the name “Asin”. Asin asked me, whether I want to stay with Aishwariya or not. I said no with logic, and the case was resolved. After that, I remained with Rekha and Amit.

Shaili: - by the way, what was that logic?

Mallika: - By laying an egg, does not certify a lady bird as a mother, unless she takes care of her child. Rekha did that and that to the child of another bird. So, both Amit and Rekha should be certified as my parents, not the idiots and coward couple like Aishwariya and Salman. Oh! My mother, I am really disappointed to say these harsh words, but there is no other choice for me, as per the ethical values.
